A MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR

Dear Social Entrepreneurs and ZenBiz Radio Listeners,

Welcome to the inaugural edition of ZenBiz Buzz, our monthly newsletter. I would also like to introduce myself. I'm Lawrence Didsbury from Spring, Texas, a fellow Zentrepreneur and member of the World Wide Association of Zentrepreneurs.

A few months ago, I was in the process of launching an additional coverage area at Winchester Research, in the area of Ethics, Compliance and Sustainability. I then met Allan Holender, author of the book "Zentreprenurism, through a mutual contact and we began discussing Allan's personal vision for the Zentrepreneurism movement. Allan sent me his book, and after reading it, I was truly impressed with Allan's understanding of the current financial crisis, its underlying causes, and the global need to educate and motivate people in doing ethical business. I decided to align the mission of Winchester Research's new analysis coverage area and my own personal vision with that of the Zentrepreneurism movement.

Currently we are providing marketing, media convergence and social networking support for ZenBiz Radio, assisting in the branding of Zentrepreneurism, and developing a prototype for an exciting virtual community of Zentrepreneurs called "Zentropolis". Stay tuned for more on that.

I'm also excited to be the Editor of the ZenBiz Buzz Newsletter as it allows me to pursue my other passion, writing. Allan is constantly reminding us to puruse our passions, to include more of what we enjoy in our work life. I want to hear your stories about people changing lives with their business...people "zenning" their businesses with a triple bottom line of social, environmental and economic responsibility, so I invite and encourage you to contribute such articles to the newsletter. Try and keep the stories to a page or so, as I will cover the most zenful stories on my short ZenBiz Radio segment each week (coming soon).

So that's my short welcome and I hope you enjoy this premiere edition.

DAVE STEWART TO APPEAR ON ZENBIZ RADIO SHOW PREMIERE!

Dave Stewart (Composer/Songwriter) is one of the most respected and accomplished talents in the music industry today. A prodigious producer of music, film and photography, he has an established career that spans more than 25 years, and has sold more than 40 million albums with Eurhythmics' partner Annie Lennox. The duo was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 1999 Brits, and later that year, embarked upon a world tour, donating the proceeds to Amnesty International and Greenpeace.

Stewart has written numerous songs with several other major artists, including Bono, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Lou Reed, Al Green, Bryan Ferry and Shakira. He recently co-wrote the popular single “Underneath It All,” with Gwen Stefani of No Doubt, and wrote tracks for Anastacia's self-titled European album, which has sold more than two million copies.

Considered one of the pop world's greatest guitar players, he has shared the stage with everybody from B.B. King, Eric Clapton and Bruce Springsteen to Bob Dylan. In 2003, Stewart established The Hospital, a state-of-the-art, multimedia creative center in London's Covent Garden, with Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: ZENFUL STORY OF THE WEEK: Abbey the Dog

This story was sent to me by Renee in Houston, TX., who received it from her co-worker. I can not vouch for the validity of the story, as is true with many stories that are passed around the Internet, as many are simply "urban legends" where the source is very hard to ascertain. You will agree, I am sure, that it is a great and zenful story about a U.S. Post Office employee who went "above and beyond" for a stranger. The story came with a TBA, "tissue box alert". Enjoy!

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:

Dear God,

Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.

I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her. You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.

Love, Meredith

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith , ' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:

Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven.

Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.

Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.

By the way, I' m easy to find, I am wherever there is love.
